So I See
by Manuel Brásio, St. Valentine's Day 2010
In the deep and cold darkness
Your face comes to me
So beautiful
So much brightness
Your light
You’re an angel
So pure, my love, yet so dangerous
I’m yours but your heart is not mine
But if you’re happy
For me
That’s fine
Your
Valentine
Mini-Sagas (A mini-saga is a story of exactly 50 words)
The Green Hat
by Pedro Alves, 2010
It was ten o’clock when I woke up. I got
dressed and realized that my green hat, which was on top of my music scores,
was missing. I was looking for it, and when I entered the living-room, my cat
was playing the piano with my hat on its head.
The Sound of Our Kiss
by Diana Peixoto, 2010
He has come close to me to sing in a soft and
tender voice the songs we have been playing together. But he is stuttering and
I am getting a bit nervous. What is happening between us now? We are so very
close. Finally, he gives me an unforgettable kiss.
A piece of advice? I'm all ears
“Being
a musician is like being an Olympic athlete, and obviously, musicians also have
to be in very good shape. A musician has to practice a lot every day. In fact,
there are two important things to work on daily: our technique and our
musicality… we have to combine these the best way possible.”
Marta
Lajoso, 2011
“In
order to be a good musician you need to love what you do. Behind each concert
are hours of practice, therefore, musicians need to be patient too. They need
to be perfectionists and pay attention to all the details so that it gets
better and better, day after day.”
Paula
Miranda, 2011
“If
we love music and we feel our hearts pumping at the beat of every note, all the
work that is necessary to prepare our performances pays off. If we enjoy
ourselves and our work, not only will we sound better, but the audience will
enjoy our music as well.”
Tiago
Azevedo, 2011
“To
be a musician you have to love what you do, you have to enjoy music and music
lessons and you have to be devoted to learning. In my opinion musicians live a
full life because they have the opportunity to share their feelings … their
soul…”
Ana
Rita Júnior, 2011
“Musicians
spend more than a third of their time working. In order to practice, you lose
time with your family, your friends, with yourself… But when you play, even if
it is just for one person, and that person applauds you, the feeling is great
and you feel eager to keep on working more and more.”
Manuela
Ferrão, 2011
